Let their voices be heard. Let their faces be seen.

By now you may have heard of or seen a video titled Kony2012. If not let me explain a little about Kony. Joseph Kony is a vile evil man. He unmercifully abducts children from their homes forcing them to fight in his 'army' (LRA). These children are subjected to murdering, raping and mutilating others. Little girls are too often forced into become nothing more than sex slaves. Little boys are forced to carry guns and murder others, including but not limited to their own parents.  The children of Uganda and countries through out Africa daily live out atrocites that we who live in a free America can only imagin. Kony has maliciously terrorized Africa for over 20 years. Now, I do not have all of the facts, but one thing I do know for sure is; we can not sit by knowing that this kind of tortue is being subjected to children, by children guided by Kony. WE MUST LET THEIR VOICES BE HEARD. WE MUST LET THEIR FACES BE SEEN.

invisibalechildren.com has started a campaign to spread awareness and gain support to oust Kony by the end of 2012. Their video Kony2012 is heart wrenching! After watching I could no longer ignor the children of Uganda. I have not financially supported invisiblechildren.com as I have read some information (that could be false information) that has me questioning their motives. Please look into visiblechildren.com and see what they're saying for yourself. I origianally intended to write more about these reports, but I feel they too greatly take away from the true meaning for this post.  But please don't stop there do some research for yourself, especaially before fully supporting invisiblechildren.com.  I do however fully support educating ourselves and bringing awareness to others. Either by blogging, re-posting Kony2012, calling & writting my local and federal government making them aware that this issue is important to me. Aside from the financial issues, that I only hinted to above, I hesitate to support invisiblechildren.com due to the reports of their affiliation with the Ugandan Army. I do not have all of the facts but it is important to understand what is being reported. To oust Kony by useing a military that is accused of producing the same sort of torture towards innocents is disgusting! Further more how can we peacefully remove Kony? At the very least that is not probable. At the very best its obsurd! The very reason he has not been caught as of yet is due to his inherrent disregard to human life. Kony with out a doubt will place his child army in the way, causing yet more death to children. Obviously I do not have the answers. I don't know if invisiblechildren.com has the answers either. BUT if we ALL educate ourselves and inform others in the process we can get this Kony guy. I urge you to watch the Kony2012 video! I urge you to research with me! I urge you to educate yourselves and others!

LET US BE THEIR VOICE WHEN THEIR CRIES ARE SILENTED.

LET US BE THEIR FACE WHEN THEIRS IS HIDDEN.

LET US TAKE A STAND WHEN THEY CAN NOT.

In this year 2012 our power comes from our voice and from our knowledge. Arm yourselves with knowledge and voice it! Do Not Stop! Their lives, their childrens lives, our lives and our childrens lives depend on it! DO NOT STOP!

Burn these following images in your mind! They do not know who is fighting for them, BUT we know who we are fighting for! Warning they can be gruesome.

Positive Affirmations: My New Year 'Mantra'

I do not believe a chant will facilitate any special  spiritual power. I do however want to fill my attitude with positivity in hopes that this attitude will affect all areas of my life. So, instead of a New Years Resolution I have come up with Positive Affirmations, sort of like a mantra (minus the 'special spiritual powers'). I can not take full credit for this as I read it else where, but I did some tweaking to make it my own.

#1. Every cell in my body glows with Joy.

#2. Loving myself heals my life.

#3. I will nurture my mind, body and soul with His word.

#4. I release all worries to God, and allow beauty to find me.

#5. When I believe in myself, so do others.

#6. I choose Faith, Love, Joy and Freedom to open my heart and accept splendid things to fill my soul.

There you have it, my 'mantra' for any and all goals I might set for myself this year. I pray that each of you can find that something to help you grow in the year of 2012. Whether that be a New Years Resolution, a verse for the year or even a 'mantra' so to speak.

Blessings to each of you!

Friends, Wisdom, Moving and A Feeling

Friends:

Proverbs 18:24 'Some friendships do not last, but some friends are more loyal than brothers.'

I am blessed to have loyal friends. They are always there when called upon. They fill me with love, encouragement, wisdom, and the best laughs. I recently went through some emotional changes. My friends were there every step of the way. Sometimes when I called upon them and sometimes when I needed them but didn't have to ask. That's how amazing they are (and my God who sent them). Some don't realize how they have helped me grow. For those that do, Thank You! For those that don't I know God will bless them.

Wisdom:

Proverbs 11:14 'Where there is no guidance, a people will fall, but in an abundance of counsels there is safety.'
Proverbs 19:20 'Listen to the advice and accept instruction that you may gain wisdom in the future."

I have soaked in an abundance of wisdom as of late. Occasionally God imparts wisdom onto those who can give it in the most loving and encouraging ways.Other times we have to experience things in order to gain this wisdom on our own. A lot of times we confuse wisdom with judgment, we must remember that  all true wisdom is just divine advice given by our Heavenly Father and to discern which we are given we have to take it to the Lord in prayer. For He never fails when you listen with a Faithful ear.

Moving:

Philippians 1:6 'Being confident of this very thing, that He who began Good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.'
Matthew 5:6 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for the righteousness, for they shall be satisfied."

Christ is always moving. Sometimes we choose not to follow close enough so we get off track. But Christ is constant and there, always moving. I feel him moving me, molding me, working me until I one day am perfect. I again, at last, taste that hunger in the pit of my soul, that thirst scratches at my throat, but one sweet day I will be wholly satisfied in the presence of God Almighty.

A Feeling:

Psalm 37:4-5 'Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him, and He will act.

One day I shall get the full extent of my hearts desire. I know this with every fiber of my being. A friend gave me some advice not so long ago "Don't put God on a timeline." A wise friend indeed.  Of course this is true, God works in God's time not ours. I have in the past tried all I could to put my timeline in the mix. How pitiful to think I could schedule better than God. Well, I will "Take it easy" and sit this one out. I will wait for God to tell me when. At that moment my heart shall fully understand any and all 'why' I have ever asked. Until that day arrives I will rejoice and praise God's promise to the Faithful.
